Natalie is 8!

It all began with eggs for breakfast (Natalie's choice, although as soon as we sat down to eat and she had scrambled eggs on her plate, she asked for Cheerios).  Then she opened presents...the Barbie VW was a big hit (we have to make sure the boys don't try to swipe it from her!)  After yet another specialist visit this morning, we stopped by Krispy Kreme for a doughnut and to watch the "doughnut factory" as my kids call it.

She had avocado and cheese sandwich for lunch, then we went out for dinner to Souper Salad, the closest thing to a Souplantation here.  Then we returned home for avocado pie.  Seriously!  The other day I was trying to get her to tell me what she wanted for her birthday, and she wouldn't really say (she really only likes ice cream and eating the frosting off the top of cupcakes).  But she said she didn't want cake or cupcakes.  As we were commenting that what she really likes is avocados, Lukas had the idea of avocado pie.  I googled it, and sure enough, there is such a thing!  Natalie liked it!

To round out the day, she had a birthday bath and I dried her hair before bed...more of her favorite things.  Happy Birthday Natalie!  We are so proud of how you've grown and we expect great things this year!
