Natalie had her 6-month cardiologist checkup this morning and everything sounded fine to her cardiologist. Natalie has a bicuspid aortic valve, which is the most common type of congenital heart defect (1-2% of the total population has it). The doctor said if there were to be a problem, it likely would have happened already, or it will happen when she's 20, 30 or 40 years old. She'll have a few more 6-month checkups and then switch to 12-month checkups for the rest of her life.
I asked him if she has normal heart function, and he said, "absolutely." Pretty boring doctor visit, just the way we like it!
