Learning!

This morning was better with Lukas than yesterday, although he tested me all afternoon and has now had to endure not having a book read to him while Tom reads a good night book to Natalie in another room. It looks like taking things and privileges away from Lukas gives the most results.

We started the day with a quick visit to Grandma and Grandpa, followed by park day, followed by a trip to Trader Joe's to kill time until swallowing therapy. When we finally came home from therapy, the tree trimmers were in full swing on our two Chinese elm trees in the front yard and Lukas had a great time watching them from the window. No, we don't subscribe to the wretched topping trend that many of our neighbors follow: we consider it an investment to have our trees trimmed by an arborist who will do it properly.

Natalie is having ups and downs with drinking: it takes a lot of coaxing to get her to drink from a sippy cup, but usually she settles in to it after we get her going. But sometimes I think she will never take it. It could happen overnight, or it could take a long time...we have no way of knowing.
