We were excited that this year we were all healthy and could participate in what has come to be a tradition among my friends in the San Gabriel Valley, where I used to live: the Super Bowl Party. It all started out with John and Diane hosting a great party of food and games (guess which team will win the coin toss, make the first points, etc...20+ questions like that). Then when technology took over, two years ago Tony and Wilma hosted the group with their big, flat screen. Then last year Boyd and Joan got a BIGGER flat screen, so the party was at their home, but we were sick so we had to miss.
No one has gotten a bigger flat screen yet, so Boyd and Joan hosted again and it was quite a lot of fun...I wish we could get together with everyone already named, plus Karl and Sheri, more frequently, but busy lives and a little distance keep that from happening as often as we would like.
Here's Sheri playing with Natalie in the mirror...Tom and I are very thankful to everyone who entertained our kids: Sheri played with Natalie a lot, Joan tolerated Lukas' banging on pots and pans in the kitchen a lot, John took Lukas out to play with bubbles during a break, Diane held Konrad and participated in his most spitting-up day yet and played with Natalie and Lukas...we are so appreciative that all of you (many who never had kids) are so welcoming of our young ones. Thank you!
Here's a picture of Konrad at his first Super Bowl Party (Joan in the background making sure there is enough food...of course there was!) Konrad did really well through three quarters, but in the last quarter, he decided that the level of noise and screaming was just too much, so we left before the game was over (on the TV we were watching...since we'd TIVOed a couple times, as we left, we heard people in other houses screaming, so we knew the game had really just ended). So we listened on the radio to learn of the Giants come-from-behind-win.
Thanks for a great party...oh, and they also tacked on a birthday celebration for me and baby shower for Konrad too!
