Winter Returns

After over a month of warm and hot weather, we finally have rain! And rain means that Lukas wants to jump in the puddles and play in the rain. Now that Natalie is in school during the middle of the day, it's easier for me to be out in the rain with him while Konrad naps, so we played outside yesterday and today, instead of doing Lukas' normal "quiet time" routine of him learning to read, me reading to him, baking, or craft projects.

Lukas' first objective was to take care of the house: he got the gutter extender out as soon as the rain started. Then there was lots of jumping in the gutter next to a nearby storm drain, and pouring water out of a bucket. Near the end of our play today, he discovered the man hole cover and decided to pour water down the holes. He got a little wetter than usual.

We saved a few earthworms who were swimming in the gutter...others, Lukas helped along to the storm drain a little faster, saying, "they'll have a fun time at the beach!"

And finally, we have a video sequel to the infamous "where does the water go when you flush the toilet" video. In the spirit of sequels, it is not as good as the original, but it's still pretty funny.

It`s a clever litle guy your having there;)

Fun too see the difference between tours an ours winter. We`re having about 1metre of snow outside now, and last week there where 15-19 minus outside, brrr.

I guess my kids looking foreward to spring and rain! They love to play with water.
