We're going to have one birthday party for both Natalie and Konrad as long as possible! It's already so "hard" to have one party the week after Thanksgiving and three weeks before Christmas, I can't imagine having two. Two different parties might happen someday, but not anytime soon!
Let's start with a picture of the bad habit Tom encouraged Natalie in...standing on a chair to smell the flowers on the table. Too cute to not include here, but only time will tell if it was worth the shot!
Yesterday we gathered with a few friends at a local park for a dual birthday party (Lukas asks, "what does 'dual' mean?") I think Natalie and Konrad both began to understand that the excitement was all about them at this party, although Konrad shied away from his cupcake when we were ready to sing to him. He didn't shy away enough to not eat it afterward, of course!
And Natalie and Konrad are still too young to really get into hitting the pinata, but they sure like picking up the candy! Konrad had fun playing with his friend John and Natalie played with everyone...when she wasn't swinging!
And someone even took a picture of our whole family together, which turned out well.
That night after dinner Natalie and Konrad opened their presents and I've included two short videos of their reactions to their favorite gifts. Konrad actually said "dinosaur" before we turned the camera on, but of course he wouldn't say the word with the camera running...he just concentrated on the sound dinosaurs make (according to Konrad!)
Natalie does tell us the name of her new doll in the video...you just have to listen carefully.
And don't even think about touching Jessie!
