I am NOT making this up!

Natalie actually said, "Mom, I spelled 'box'!"  I looked, thinking it was in the Word Whammer that she spelled 'box'...but she spelled it with the letters on the fridge, not following the directions of Word Whammer.

When I tried to get her to pose with her achievement, this is the best I got, before she started moving the letters around.

Ok, she might have spelled it by following the directions of the Word Whammer, then taking them out and putting them below on the door.  But I don't think so.  I know she has spelled 'box' before with the Word Whammer...and I think she recognized what she happened to spell.  I have seen her recognize the word 'bus" in a book.

Maybe Natalie's ready to learn to read!?

She is MORE than ready! Already taking practical applications outside of the games/tools she has...thinking outside the "box" so to speak.

I bet with a bit of extra modeling my Lukas, the girl will be spelling a lot more than box by the end of the summer. Hooray for Natalie! She is such a clever little buggar.

I am a blog follower. Don't know you personally, but I enjoy reading about your family. Natalie is just at the right age to begin the process of reading. There are a whole lot 4 year olds without her challenges that aren't as far along as she is. I think that little girl is going to surprise a whole lot of folks. Congratulations on the new little one.

That is just so brilliant. I love how Natalie just keeps learning - she really inspires me to keep my expectations high for Matt. Not that I am comparing them. But just to never say never. Go girl.

I think pushing the boundaries is the most important level here. I agree that she is ready, but that is something you'd be able to judge better than I. However, never getting comfortable, and always pushing the boundaries intellectually and physically, in my mind is key here.

Proud of my family!
