Grandpa George

Grandpa George really rejoiced with the Lord for the first time this morning as he left this world and began his "forever" life in eternity.  We already miss him so much!  And it's so surreal for Tom and his siblings to be experiencing this so close upon the passing of their mother in April

Grandpa George and Grandma Alice both lived such long and full lives and have a wonderful legacy of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Grandpa George was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.  He graduated from the Naval Academy right before the end of WWII, served in the surface fleet [on a ship] and then became a fighter pilot in 1949 and served two tours in Korea.  He always joked he was a "nasal radiator" instead of "naval aviator."

After he left the Navy, he worked in aerospace until he retired.  He started his own hobby business of selling car racing parts. Then he volunteered at Wycliffe Associates for 10 years, which he described as the best job ever.  The last chapter of his life was caring for his wife as she lived with Parkinson's.

We love you Dad!

They were such a dear couple and I pray for God's peace to surround you all, but knowing they are in God's presence now together is comforting to know..

Blessings and love,
Rachel
