But the answer to the first question? Can you guess?
Tom was throwing out old VHS tapes and decided to let the kids run around the yard with them, pulling the tape out. Lukas especially went a little crazy, running back and forth from the trees, Natalie was spinning on the swing, getting her legs completely tangled. The neighbor girls thought our kids were weird.
But they were just having fun!
(PS...don't anybody get any ideas about using this instead of toilet paper on a tree...it would be much more difficult to remove, I think.)

Haha i have a picture of me tangled in a music cassette tape when I was a kid. There's just something about it that kids love. Maybe the chaos?
