Welcome Feast

Kathrin is back!  We're so excited that she decided to come to California for a winter holiday, and to stay with us.  In honor of her first full day with us, we had one of those Thanksgiving turkeys in the freezer for dinner, and then (almost) devoured the Gingerbread House.  The gingerbread seemed a little softer than last year, maybe because of all the rain we've had recently, there's more moisture in the air.  It was yummy!

This picture is pretty funny...Lukas is only interested in the Gingerbread House; Konrad is crying for some strange reason (I think he wanted to sit on Tom's lap?); and Natalie is waving at the candles.  Dominik had finished dinner and was crawling on the floor.  Kathrin and Tom are laughing at Lukas' exuberance.

It takes me a week or two to get used to having the extra help that Kathrin provides, and by then she'll be gone, but Tom and I have planned a few activities where she will be of tremendous help. But it's wonderful to have this dear family friend visiting again!  I get to have adult conversation all day long and not just when Tom comes home!
